TAMPA, FL – Tampa’s mayor is giving up her Lincoln Town Car for a hybrid vehicle, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal. Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio directed staff to research hybrids in an effort to improve the environment, and staff has proposed a Toyota Camry Hybrid because of its improved gas mileage, estimated at 40 miles per gallon. Over a 12-month period, the hybrid saves approximately four barrels of petroleum when compared to the conventional Camry.

The hybrid will cost the city about $27,000, less $14,000 for the Lincoln trade-in.
