OLSO, NORWAY – Esmerk Norwegian News reports that Norwegian leasing companies have experienced a sharp drop in demand for SUVs on the company car market, according to the Web site www.just-auto.com. The article suggested that SUVs in Norway are dropping in popularity in company fleets dues to growing environmental awareness.
Marius Pius of LeasePlan told the newspaper that there are indications of a trend change and he believes company leaders soon will follow the examples from Germany and the Netherlands and ban SUVs as company cars. The large companies have assumed a larger responsibility but small-and medium-sized enterprises are expected to follow, the report said.
