FAYETTEVILLE, AR – The City of Fayetteville is preparing to use a blend of biodiesel in some city vehicles, according to the Web site www.wmcstations.com. Trash trucks and other heavy vehicles and equipment will get their fuel at the city’s new biodiesel fuel farm.
Fleet Manager David Bragg said the purpose is to pollute less. Officials said the cost of using a mix of 20 percent biodiesel with regular diesel won’t produce great cost savings, particularly if the price at the pump for diesel continues to decline, according to the report. About 300 vehicles will use the biodiesel fuel blend.
