CASTLE ROCK, CO – The Town of Castle Rock’s Public Works Department captured two 2006 awards from the Colorado Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) for Medium Communities (population 20,000 to100,000). The awards were presented Jan. 23 in Lone Tree.

The Town’s Fleet Services division earned the 2006 Fleet Management & Operations Award. Steve Ryan, former assistant director of Public Works, nominated Fleet Services based on a number of accomplishments, including:

  • Initiating a solid business plan.
  • Establishing a key set of performance indicators.
  • Achieving a goal of 98 percent fleet availability.
  • Achieving a goal of a 96 percent customer-satisfaction rating.
