MACOMB, ILLINOIS- Macomb Mayor Mick Wisslead has named Walter J. Burnett, CAFM as Public Works Director, to oversee all divisions within the department. Burnett comes to the City of Macomb from the City of Beverly Hills, California where he was Public Works Maintenance Operations Manager.

Burnett previously worked for the cities of Knoxville, Tennessee and Schaumburg, Illinois. Burnett brings over 32 years experience in the public works operations to Macomb and is an accomplished author and presenter on public works topics. He is active in professional associations, including the American Public Works Association and National Association of Fleet Administrators, where he currently serves as Treasurer. Burnett is a Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) and a past President of the Automotive Transportation Supervisors Association.

In 2006, Burnett was a finalist for the Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year Award given by Government Fleet Magazine and co-sponsored by Automotive Resources International (ARI) and sponsored by Fleet Counselor Services.
