AMHERST, MS – It’s going to be a little easier to get around U-Mass and the four other colleges in the Amherst area, according to the Associated Press. U-Mass just added five buses to its fleet for a total of 40 vehicles. The buses will serve students at the university as well as Hampshire, Smith, Amherst, and Mount Holyoke colleges. Officials say the 40-foot diesel buses are more fuel efficient and have wheelchair-accessible ramps that fold out to the curb. Money for the new buses comes from the federal and state government, but is being handed out by the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority.
