FLINT, MI – The City of Flint’s new fleet of 20 garbage trucks has been launched and is on the road, according to the Web site www.abc12.com
According to Flint Mayor Don Williamson, this is just the beginning of a fleet makeover for the City. Spending around $4 million, in addition to the 20 garbage trucks, Flint will add 19 new police trucks and 46 new pickup trucks to its fleet.
Flint’s old commercial garbage truck fleet was beginning to cost more than it was worth, the report said. Williamson said the new trucks will save the city around $600,000 a year in maintenance costs.
