BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD – After complaints were made, Democratic County Councilman Vince Gardina has removed campaign stickers from his Baltimore county-issued vehicle, according to the Web site www.booster.com The complaints came from Jeffrey Meister and Ron Nawrocki, two volunteers for Republican State Senate candidate Craig Borne, who said they saw Gardina drive past them on a road where they were holding up Borne signs.
They said Gardina’s Jeep Liberty had a campaign sign for Gardina, who is seeking re-election, and for Baltimore Mayor Martin O’Malley, a Democrat running for governor. The county’s vehicle management policies state that county vehicles may not be modified, including placement of “unapproved stickers.”
According to the report, Gardina acknowledged that his county vehicle had the stickers. After getting legal advice, he had removed the stickers.
