Vanderburgh County Implements GPS Tracking of Highway Dept. Fleet

EVANSVILLE, IN – Vanderburgh County’s new automatic vehicle locating system for Highway Department vehicles and equipment is operational, according to the Courier & Press newspaper. Residents can now log on to Vanderburgh County’s Web site (www.vanderburghgis.com/countyhighway/) at any time and view where Highway Department vehicles are working. The county paid $31,939.50 for the locating system in a contract awarded to Vincennes Electronics, according to the report. The system can be expanded for use by other city and county agencies.
