BISMARCK, N.D. – North Dakota's motor pool has added 180 Ford Taurus cars and four Chevrolet pickups that can burn E-85 fuel, according to the Web site, www.kxma.com/.
State fleet manager Paul Feyereisen says 12 percent of the total fleet can now burn the fuel that's a mixture of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. That includes sedans and light trucks.
Feyereisen says the state has about as many E-85 vehicles as it can expect to buy – given the availability of the "flex-fuel" option.
But he says the state should be able to get more flex-fuel cars and trucks as more manufacturers make their vehicles able to run on E-85.
