Government and Industry Leaders to Attend National Retrofit Summit

December 7, 2005

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Government and industry leaders are gathering at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C., for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) National Clean Diesel Campaign Policy Leaders Summit on Dec. 7 and 8. The summit is dedicated to helping officials achieve cost-effective clean air benefits by reducing emissions from existing diesel-powered fleets through retrofit programs. The Diesel Technology Forum (DTF) and the Manufacturers of Emissions Controls Association (MECA) are cosponsoring the two-day event in conjunction with EPA. A series of panel discussions include lessons learned from successful clean diesel programs around the country, identifying incentives for fleet operators and owners, promoting public-private partnerships, and examining new potential funding opportunities from recent legislation.
