BURNABY, B.C. — WebTech Wireless Inc., a supplier of mobile telematics, will deploy wireless fleet management services for 188 of Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s contracted tow truck vehicles. LA. Metro will be using the fleet management solution to increase public accountability, improve customer service, and improve traffic flow for more than 450 miles of L.A. County’s freeways. With a primary goal of reducing congestion while improving the safety of the freeway system by providing stranded motorists with roadside services, L.A. Metro was looking for a reliable, high-quality solution that would allow them to monitor and respond to roadside calls in real-time. L.A. Metro is also using WebTech’s Route Geofence/Adherence functionality to ensure tow truck drivers adhere to pre-determined routes or beats, ensuring maximum coverage throughout the county. Additionally, WebTech’s solution allows the county to confirm driver and tow contractor performance as well as tow contractor billing.
