State of Missouri Buys 170 Vehicles Since Gov. Blunt Took Office

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Since Gov. Blunt took office, state agencies have bought 170 motor vehicles, spending about $3.5 million in all, according to the Associated Press. One of Blunt's first actions was to issue an executive order prohibiting purchases of non-emergency vehicles.The state transportation department bought 98 vehicles and the conservation department bought 26 vehicles. Figures on the vehicle purchases were released by the Office of Administration following an open-records request by the Associated Press.
