JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Since Gov. Blunt took office, state agencies have bought 170 motor vehicles, spending about $3.5 million in all, according to the Associated Press. One of Blunt's first actions was to issue an executive order prohibiting purchases of non-emergency vehicles. The state transportation department bought 98 vehicles and the conservation department bought 26 vehicles. Figures on the vehicle purchases were released by the Office of Administration following an open-records request by the Associated Press.
