ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NC – Some business owners in Rockingham County, N.C., say efforts to balance the county's budget will hurt their bottom lines, according to WFMY News in Greensboro, N.C. As a way to save money, a citizens' committee recommended consolidating maintenance on county vehicles. According to commissioners, building a central maintenance shop instead of using private shops throughout the county will save $75,000 in the budget. Currently, various shops all over the country service the county's fleet of about 250 vehicles. Rockingham County Manager Tom Robinson says he would like to call in a budget analyst to look at the matter more closely.
