SPRINGFIELD, IL – A House panel for the state of Illinois has recommended that thousands of state vehicles should stay off the road until Gov. Rod Blagojevich's administration can pay automobile insurance claims, according to the Pantagraph. Members of the House State Government Administration Committee criticized the administration for failing to budget enough money to pay insurance claims when its vehicles are involved in wrecks. At least 60 people have been affected by the oversight, and are waiting for a total of $233,000 to pay for repairs. An official with the Department of Central Management Services, the agency that oversees insurance on the state's 10,000 vehicles, said it is impractical to park all the vehicles.
