KINGSTON, NY – According to the Daily Freeman, Ulster County is looking into whether a fleet management service might help the county better manage the fleet of 487 vehicles. The county's Government Efficiency and Reform Committee is issuing a request for proposals from private firms with experience in managing public and private fleets.

The county hopes to the issues of an analysis of the county's fleet, a plan to manage it, and proposals with costs included from companies interested in taking over the fleet. A need for greater control over the fleet came from a few incidents that lawmakers cited.
