Cleveland Mayor´s Driver Suspended For Using City Car

December 15, 2004

CLEVELAND — One of Cleveland Mayor Jane Campbell´s personal drivers has some extra time off, but not by her choice, according to NewsChannel5 on December 7. The city´s chief of police suspended Detective Jeannie Joyce Monday for using a city car during off hours. Investigators said Joyce was in the Dodge Durango when it was hit by another car in October. Joyce will serve a four-day suspension. The mayor´s driver was under scrutiny last year for racking up overtime and running errands with a city vehicle while the city was facing layoffs during a budget crisis.
