N.J. Teen Hit by Street Sweeper

JERSEY CITY, NJ – A 16-year-old boy fractured his skull after being run over by a street sweeper operated by the Jersey City Incinerator Authority, reported the Secaucus Journal newspaper.Witnesses said the boy stepped off a curb into the street around 7 a.m. and was hit. He also fractured his right leg and received numerous cuts on his body. The incident is being investigated by the police department´s Accident Investigation Unit and appears to have been an accident. The driver of the street sweeper did not receive a citation.
