POLK COUNTY, FL –- Bob Stanton, fleet manager of Polk County, Fla., received the 2004 Excellence in Maintenance Management Award from the Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) of the American Trucking Associations. This is the first time in its 55-year history that a local government fleet manager has been recognized by the TMC. Stanton also received the Larry Goill Award from the National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) at its Fleet Management Institute in Atlanta last April. The Goill Award, sponsored by Bell Canada, recognizes innovation and creativity within fleet operations and is presented annually to one private fleet manager and one public sector fleet manager. The award recognized the success of Polk County’s Long-Term Vehicle Purchase Program.
