Roger Weaver, CAFM, CPFP, CPM, fleet management director for San Bernardino County, Calif., is resigning from his position effective Oct. 17. He will join neighboring Riverside County as its assistant director of fleet services.

The Riverside County fleet consists of 4,300 on-road units, managed and maintained by a staff of 57.

Weaver has worked in the fleet industry for 50 years, 16 in the county and 34 at private fleets. Recent accomplishments at San Bernardino County under Weaver’s leadership include being named the No. 1 fleet in the Leading Fleets program this year and earning the Certified Fleet Management Operation (CFMO) certification in 2013.

Weaver stated that there is a plan in place for hiring a new fleet director to replace him at San Bernardino County.

Weaver replaces Ted Trujillo, CAFM, who is leaving to join the Josephine County fleet in Oregon as its fleet program supervisor. The fleet covers Public Works, law enforcement, and motor pool assets. He begins Oct. 30.
