The City of Sandpoint, Idaho, has approved a new police vehicle take-home program, eliminating the need to build a new garage to house the fleet, the Bonner County Daily Bee reported.

The program allocates $200,000 of an existing garage fund to purchase four marked Ford Police Interceptor vehicles so each officer has an assigned vehicle.

The majority of officers live within a 15-mile radius of the city, a requirement for taking vehicles home.
