The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has certified Icom North America's bi-fuel and dedicated liquid-injection propane autogas systems for Ford police vehicles with the 3.7-liter V-6 engine, the vehicle modifier announced.

The EPA certifications apply to the 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016-MY Ford Police Interceptor sedan and utility, Explorer, Taurus, Edge, and Flex, along with the Lincoln MKT, MKS, and MKX. The certified fleet platforms are focused on police, government, and livery vehicles, Icom said.

The propane autogas systems are the first to be EPA-certified for use in the aforementioned vehicle platforms, according to Icom. The company added that it will soon announce additional EPA certifications for fleet platforms.
