Sales from nine car and truck manufacturers to government fleets slowed in March, falling 4.7% to 17,832 vehicles after a 12% growth spurt in February, according to Automotive Fleet data.

In March, passenger cars led the decline with a 34.9% fall to 2,872. Sales of trucks, vans, and SUVs increased 4.5% to 14,960.

The vehicle manufacturers have now sold 47,944 vehicles in 2015, which represents a 7.6% increase from the first quarter of 2014. Trucks, vans, and SUVs continue their growth trajectory and have gained 17.2% in 2015. Passenger car sales have fallen 20.1% this year.
