Drivers of the City of Seattle's fleet vehicles have been regularly overstaying posted time limits in paid parking spots in the downtown area, according to a report from KING 5 News.

The KING 5 crew observed cars, trucks, and vans from four city departments staying longer than the permitted times in loading zones, three-minute passenger drop-offs, and street parking spots. The media outlet began the investigation after receiving complaints from viewers.

City workers confronted by the media outlet said they were allowed to park in the load zones. One FedEx driver told the outlet he needed to double park because the city vehicles were taking up the loading zones.
