Ford is providing additional details about the snow plow prep option that's now available with the 2015 F-150 pickup.

Fleets and owner-operators can now order the F-150 with the option, which includes a bracket to mount the plow and a button that activates snow plow mode, which turns off nonessential features to provide dedicated power for the plow.

The option, which costs $50, is available on the Regular, SuperCab, and SuperCrew configurations and XL, XLT, and Lariat trim levels. The truck must be powered by a 5.0-liter V-8 engine and four-wheel drive.

Fleet buyers who choose this vehicle would neeed to take it to a Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM). The truck can support a light-duty plow weight of more than 450 pounds, according to Ford.
