Elgin Sweeper Co. is recalling 92 2012-2014 model-year Broom Badger sweeper trucks because their hydraulic systems might overheat and pose a fire risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

The overheating could result if an oil cooler fan fails. The recall affects sweeper trucks manufactured from March 1, 2013, to Oct. 1 of this year, according to NHTSA.

To fix the problem, Elgin dealers will install a modified wiring harness that separates ground wires form the fan and sending unit. There will be no charge for this remedy.

Street sweeper owners affected by the recall can contact Elgin customer service at (847) 741-5370. Elgin's number for this recall is SB-0148.
