The Monmouth County (N.J.) surplus auction this fall generated $94,815, bringing the combined total of the county’s online surplus property auctions to $2,781,023, according to a county release.

Bidders were able to purchase surplus property from the county’s fleet services, sheriff’s office, buildings and grounds, reclamation center and seized and surplus property from the prosecutor’s office. The auction consisted of 46 items, including 30 vehicles.

Auctions are coordinated by the Department of Public Works and Engineering, Division of Fleet Services, with assistance provided by the purchasing division.

“By continuing to conduct the surplus and seized property auctions online, the county eliminates the need to pay overtime for security and item pick-up,” said Board of Chosen Freeholders Deputy Director Gary Rich, Sr., liaison to the purchasing division. “The online auction has made this process a revenue stream.”

The auction was conducted Oct. 18-21 by Auction Liquidation Services of Eatontown, N.J. A complete list of the items included in the auction was viewed online with pictures and descriptions, as well as terms of sale and other relevant information.
