On Monday, June 10, the City of San Antonio, Texas, fleet opened its doors to Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX) attendees by hosting a tour of its new truck center for 144 guests. The tour was sponsored by Boulder EV. The truck center, one of the City’s seven maintenance facilities, has 12 drive-through bays and houses 12 technicians; it has been in use for about one month.

Bob Stanton, CPM, CPFP, assistant director of the Building & Equipment Services Division, welcomed attendees. He said the new facility replaces an older one constructed in the 1950s. It had six repair bays. Although the facility and fueling island have been equipped to maintain and fuel compressed natural gas (CNG), the City has not yet decided whether it will expand its CNG fleet – the City currently has some refuse trucks running on CNG.

The San Antonio fleet maintains approximately 5,000 units. Look for a full photo gallery at a later date.
