Illinois Senate Passes Bill That Would Establish Formal Vehicle Use and Purchase Policies

SPRINGFIELD, IL – The State of Illinois’ Senate has passed a bill, HB5650, which would result in the creation of a formal vehicle use policy for State fleet vehicles, establish restrictions on fleet purchases by State agencies, and require agencies to share vehicle cost data with the public.

City of Dayton Purchases GPS Tracking System for 208 Fleet Vehicles

DAYTON, OH - The City’s commission voted to spend $286,000, between 2012 and 2014, on a system from Radio Satellite Integrators (RSI). Those funds will cover the cost of the devices and system for 208 City-owned vehicles.

Bergen County Cuts Fleet by 123 Vehicles

HACKENSACK, NJ - County Executive Kathleen A. Donovan said the County has auctioned 123 take-home vehicles and reduced its fleet’s fuel use by 22,000 gallons, which saved approximately $66,000.

The NJDOT is installing radio and GPS devices in its fleet of 3,000 units and purchasing 300 hand-held radios with GPS tracking.

TRENTON, NJ - The New Jersey Department of Transportation is installing radio and GPS devices in its fleet of 3,000 units, starting with snowplowing units. Total initial cost is $17 million.
