Fla. County to Spend $300,000 on Fire Fleet Repairs

Polk County, Fla., will spend about $300,000 due to a structural flaw on all of its fire trucks. Commissioners voted to fix a loose suspension on all 12 of the county's trucks, at a cost of about $25,000 per truck.

BARTOW, FL - On Nov. 1, Polk County Fleet Management took over the management and operation of the City of Ft. Meade, Fla., fleet of 46 units. The County has also been insourcing management of the City of Lake Wales fleet since October 2009 and the City of Auburndale fleet since June 2010.
