Ford will offer a factory interior visor light for its Police Interceptor Utility for agencies looking to use a more stealthy version of its police SUV for the 2017 model year.

The low-profile visor light mounts inside the P.I. Utility at the top of the windshield, and eliminates the need for a roof-mounted light bar. The light mounts in the dark shade band at the top of the windshield that's replaced by clear glass to provide greater color visibility and brightness.

The light comes with a limited warranty. When activated, the light flashes bright alternating red and blue bars through the top of the windshield. It can also be programmed for red/red or blue/blue operation.

The visor light features bright-white "take down" and scene capabilities with excellent forward visibility, and can be set up to meet California Title 13 regulations. It can be programmed from full intensity down to 20%, and provide auto-dimming capability, according to Ford.
