General Motors increased its total fleet sales by 7 percent in 2014, selling 703,582 vehicles, and grew its fleet sales in all three segments including commercial, government, and rental.

For 2014, GM increased commercial fleet sales by 24 percent, rental sales up 2.4 percent, and government sales by 0.3 percent. GM has recorded 14 consecutive months of sales gains in the commercial fleet segment, GM announced.

"Each facet of our fleet and commercial business was up in 2014," said Ed Peper, U.S. vice president of GM Fleet & Commercial. "Our sales performance was strong in every segment of the market – pickups, full size vans, cars and crossovers."

December commercial deliveries were up 38 percent compared to a year ago, driven by a 65 percent increase in full-size pickup sales. The Chevrolet Cruze, which was named 2014 Fleet Car of the Year by Automotive Fleet and Business Fleet, saw a 51 percent year-over-year fleet sales increase.
