Scott Kincaid was recently named Charlotte Douglas (N.C.) International Airport’s first ever fleet manager. He started on Aug. 1.

“The airport is growing so fast and the fleet is growing so fast that they wanted to bring somebody in to manage that growth and allow it to grow responsibly,” he said.

He is looking into purchasing a fleet management information system to replace paper work orders as well as telematics for buses. He’s also considering alternative fuels for several vehicle and equipment applications.

The fleet consists of 450 units, which range from tractors and lawn mowers to transit buses and dump trucks.

Kincaid previously worked as a fleet analyst at the City of Charlotte.
