When sharing the road with slow-moving farm equipment, it’s crucial for motorists to use caution, courtesy and patience. Additionally, drivers need to take measures to stay out of farm equipment blind spots.

Here are some more safety tips, provided by the Nebraska Safety Council, about sharing the road with farm equipment. You may want to pass them along to fleet drivers as a friendly reminder.

  • Be alert for farm equipment especially during planting and harvesting seasons.
  • Slow down as soon as you see farm equipment ahead.
  • Pass farm equipment only if you know conditions are safe.
  • Exercise extreme caution on rural roadway hills and curves.
