BASTROP, TX - Bastrop County Sheriff's Office has added 13 new 2010 Ford Police Interceptors to its fleet, according to the Elgin Courier Online.

Sheriff Terry Pickering said the department is waiting for its 13 new black and white patrol cars to be outfitted with the needed equipment.

The new vehicles are expected to provide heavier duty suspension and electrical systems and larger brake rotors for longer-lasting durability in the environment they are used.

Commissioner Lee Dildy reported that the $343,000 was budgeted for the new cars last year, reported the Courier Online.
