The president of the Jefferson Parish Council in Louisiana is pushing the agency to sell its used vehicles rather than continuing to donate them to other public agencies, The Times-Picayune reported.

Ten vehicles are up for donation, bringing the year’s total to 16, for a total value of more than $110,000. In comparison, the parish donated eight vehicles total over the past five years.

Many of the donated vehicles are going to the City of Kenner, the largest city in the parish.

Donating used vehicles is not an uncommon practice. King County in Washington is also known to donate its used vehicles to local organizations.
