The City of Jacksonville's  online auction patnership will allow the City to sell surplus items quicker.

The City of Jacksonville, Fla., has partnered with internet auctioning company GovDeals to sell surplus vehicles and products. Previously, the City held physical auctions once or twice per year. Online auctions will allow for a more real-time auctioning process that allows for a quicker turnover of surplus items and help reduce the Procurement Division’s footprint in the surplus yard, according to a City release.

The move saves taxpayer dollars with a reduced commission fee from the previous auctioneer, which provides more revenue for surplus assets.

The City of Jacksonville’s online auctions can be accessed at www.govdeals.com/JAX. Numerous vehicles are already listed for sale on the site.
