San Jose State University Purchases Electric Motorcycles for Police Fleet

San Jose State University in San Jose, Calif., has purchased two new electric motorcycles from a company called Zero Motorcycles for its fleet of police patrol vehicles.

New City of Brookhaven Unveils Its First Fleet of Police Cars

The City of Brookhaven, Ga., unveiled its first fleet of 57 police cars - 46 Ford Police Interceptors, three Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicles, seven Chevrolet Impalas, and one Chevrolet Caprice. The new city, previously an unincorporated area in DeKalb County, was formed in December 2012.


Yonkers, N.Y. Buys Mix of New Vehicles for Police Fleet

The City of Yonkers, N.Y., has purchased new patrol cars for the Yonkers Police Department (YPD), which includes a mix of Chevrolet Caprice patrol cars (23 of them) and Ford Interceptor Utility vehicles (nine of these), plus a new Emergency Service Unit Patrol Truck.

Officers will use the vehicle for patrol in a rural community, and a school resource officer will use it when providing security to a school.


Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office Purchases Volt for Patrol Use

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan purchased a Chevrolet Volt and plans to upfit the vehicle as a fully operational police car. Officers are driving the vehicle around in order to provide feedback before it gets upfitted.
