S.C. County to Replace One-Third of Fire Fleet

Horry County (S.C.) Fire/Rescue is replacing one-third of its fire fleet by purchasing $7.7 million worth of pumpers, ladders trucks, and tankers, Myrtle Beach Online reported.

The fleet includes 11 pumpers that are more than 20 years old and ladder trucks that are more than 16 years old. The county’s fire chief said he hopes to replace one-third of the department fleet every six years.
