Sharyl Blackington, fleet manager for San Diego County, Calif., has announced she is resigning from her position for personal reasons. Her last day is May 19.

Blackington has 38 years of experience in fleet, 30 of which she spent in federal fleet management. She started her career as a civilian crane operator and culminated her federal career as the U.S. Navy’s Southwest Region fleet manager. Under Blackington’s leadership, San Diego County has been recognized in the top five Leading Fleets for the past three years for its innovative and cost-effective fleet operations. Blackington was inducted into the Public Fleet Hall of Fame in 2016.

John Manring, fleet coordinator, will serve as acting fleet manager.
