Calif. County Hires Asst. Fleet Manager

April 08, 2016

Sonoma County, Calif., has hired a new assistant fleet manager, Greg Gilseth, after a lengthy national recruitment. He joined the fleet on March 29.

Gilseth replaces David Worthington, who was promoted to fleet manager in 2013 following the retirement of Dave Head.

Gilseth has more than 30 years of experience in the transportation industry in both the public and private sectors. In the private sector, he has worked as an automotive technician, service writer, service department manager, and fixed operations director for a dealership. In the public sector, Gilseth worked as the fleet maintenance manager for Hennepin County, Minn., and Metro Transit in Brooklyn Center, Minn.

Greg’s technical expertise includes automotive, light-duty trucks, medium- and heavy-duty trucks, off-road equipment, passenger buses, trailers, small engine powered equipment, street sweepers, aerial equipment, watercraft, snowmobiles, and ATVs. His green fleet experience includes electric hybrids, all-electric vehicles, flex-fuels, bio-diesel, and some compressed natural gas (CNG) technology.
