Philadelphia City Council Vehicles Questioned

January 27, 2016

More than 70% of the Philadelphia City Council members have signed up to use a city-issued vehicle, a practice frowned up during the recession that one member said would not be appropriate, reports Philly.com.

Four of five newly elected councilmembers opted for the city car with only real estate mogul Allan Domb turning it down, along with a salary he promised to donate to the school district.

Former Mayor Michel Nutter had asked fellow council members to turn in the keys to their cars during the recession, but current Mayor Michael Kenney hasn't made the same demand.
