VIDEO: City of Orlando Featured in Knowledge Sharing Videos

In Government Fleet's Knowledge Sharing video series, David Dunn, CFM, fleet and facilities management division manager, City of Orlando, talks about how he transitioned from a mechanic to where he is today. He passes along tips on how to be an effective leader and why it's important to be proactive.

Dunn has 43 years of fleet experience. He started his career in fleet operations with the Brevard County, Fla., School Board as a mechanic. Some of his biggest accomplishments during his career is the solar array atop the city's fleet garage which produces more power during the day than it consumes on the fleet's ten-acre compound and winning the Leading Fleet Award in the inaugural year of 2014

The City of Orlando's fleet consists of 2,700 on road vehicles and 1,300 off road pieces of equipment. His team is made up of 98 full-time employees.

Government Fleet has launched the Knowledge Sharing video series featuring veteran fleet managers sharing advice and tips for new fleet managers. This series was created to address the “graying” of the industry and to allow experienced fleet managers to pass along their industry knowledge.
