Mac Tools’ TaskPlus Trilingual OBD II/EOBD & Scan Tool (ET1205ANX) features a number of upgrades designed to save technicians time in the shop. One new feature is AutoID, which is an acronym library and component locator that allows technicians to check and diagnose trouble codes faster than they could with previous models.

The AutoID function automatically selects the vehicle the technician is working on (works with most MY-2000 and newer vehicles, according to Mac Tools) and clarifies what terms means, such as CTS (Coolant Temperature Sensor). The component locator provides text-based descriptions to indicate where a component is located in a vehicle.

The ET1205ANX is compatible with all 1996-and-newer vehicles and features a visual indicator when communicating with a vehicle. It provides more than 15,000 code definitions and has the ability to print to a PC.

The tool also features graphing on screen, recording and playback of live data, and optional battery power. Live data allows the user to view vehicle sensors, switches and relay inputs in real time, while the engine is running, which helps technicians diagnose drivability issues and intermittent faults. Lastly, the ET1205ANX displays all 10 modes of OBD II data and meets European OBD standards (EOBD).
