The Broward County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Department has entered into a five-year, at least $5 million fleet maintenance and management contract with Vector Fleet Management. The partnership is designed to improve service levels and provide greater accountability of the fleet of 2,800 patrol, pursuit, and administrative support vehicles, according to Vector.

The Sheriff’s Department previously contracted fleet services with another provider. The Sheriff’s Department and Vector’s fleet managers will work together to manage the vehicles and the contract.

“Vector offers Broward County an experienced partner in providing maintenance and repair services for critical first responder units,” explained Rob Lovi, vice president of sales for Vector Fleet. “They rely on our team of certified managers and technicians to complete preventative maintenance, repairs, and warranty administration for their impressively large fleet of vehicles.”

Vector professionals are trained by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and undergo rigorous programs to achieve certifications for emergency vehicles.
