Fleet Supervisor Fired for Taking Home City Equipment

A veteran fleet supervisor for the City of Knoxville, Tenn., has been fired after equipment from the fleet garage was found at his home.

Michael Smith, a 24-year veteran, was fired after an investigation revealed that he had taken home a $1,500 plasma torch from the city's Fleet Services division, reports WATE-TV.

Smith, 49, had been placed on leave in December.
