Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Defends Take-Home Vehicles

April 21, 2013

While critics see a potential for cost savings, Wayne County (Mich.) Sheriff’s Office is defending its 61 unmarked take-home vehicles, according to the Lansing State Journal. The County assigns its unmarked take-home vehicles to command staff for quicker responses to emergencies.

A spokesperson told the LSJ that cost of the unmarked vehicles is unknown since they are covered in a larger budget item.
