Maricopa County Evaluating Personal Car Use

PHOENIX – Maricopa County is reviewing the amount of money spent for government workers, elected officials, and judges to drive and take home county-owned vehicles, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.
The county government has 2,500 cars, vans and trucks in its fleet. Maricopa County, like other governments, is facing budget shortfalls and lower tax revenue due to the economy.
"We want to make better use of our fleet and maximize savings," said Brad Hushek, deputy budget director for the county government.
