The Duratech R8300 R3 Rugged laptop, available from GammaTech, features Intel 7th generation Core processors, improved graphics capabilities increased battery life, and the elevated security offered by Windows 10. The R8300 is used around the world by military forces, public safety agencies, and field service organizations in the oil  gas, utility, and telecommunications markets.

Key features include a 13.3-inch sunlight-readable LCD touchscreen, quick-release HDD, and a waterproof and backlit keyboard. With Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and optional Gobi 5000 mobile broadband and GPS, workers can enjoy reliable connectivity in the field.

The device meets military standards and has other critical certifications for drop, vibration, ingress, salt fog, hazardous environments, temperature, humidity, and altitude. The R8300 offers a hot-swappable, dual battery option, providing up to 21 hours of power, for multi-shift performance without the need to plug in and charge.

Windows 10, the most secure Windows ever, addresses safety concerns by offering users a layered defense to help protect, detect, and respond to security threats. The Department of Defense (DoD), for instance, is in the process of moving all branches of the military to this operating system. Optional security features include Absolute’s Computrace software, Intel vPro technology, an integrated smart card reader, fingerprint scanner, TPM2.0 and a Kensington lock slot.
