Clean Fuels Ohio (CFO) and the Municipal Equipment Maintenance Association (MEMA) are expecting about 300 attendees from fleets and advanced fuel and vehicle technology sectors at its annual Midwest Green Fleets Forum & Expo slated for August 1-2, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio. August 1 pre-conference sessions take place at Columbus State Community College, and August 2 activities will occur at the Hilton Downtown Columbus.
“The Midwest Green Fleets Forum & Expo has become one of the most trusted regional conferences for the fleet transportation industry,” said Sam Spofforth, executive director of Clean Fuels Ohio. “Attendees should expect to gain practical guidance and insights into how to deploy transportation technologies that save money and have positive impacts on our environment.”
The conference will begin on August 1 at Columbus State Community College's newly designed automotive maintenance learning facilities with workshops focused on fleet financing, group purchasing strategies, and technician training on advanced vehicle technologies. The day will conclude with an invite-only reception where Clean Fuels Ohio will announce its Legislator of the Year, an award given to an Ohio policymaker who has worked to successfully advance the alternative fuels industry in the state. August 1 activities at Columbus State will also include a vehicle showcase to provide opportunities for hands-on experience with many vehicles available today.
Day two will include six separate panels focused on smart mobility and logistics, alternative fuel options, efficiency technologies, electric vehicle deployment strategy, telematics, and leading fleet best practices.
In addition, the conference will recognize those that have earned CFO’s prized Ohio Green Fleets certifications and MEMA’s outstanding vehicle technician awards.

Other speakers include representatives from various Clean Cities Coalitions, Smart Columbus personnel, and business leaders from organizations with innovative technologies for fleets. The expo floor at the event will include approximately 40 companies displaying products and services for fleets interested in advanced fuel and vehicle technologies.
This year’s conference also features a close collaboration with the Ohio Conference on Freight, organized by Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, taking place on August 3 and 4 also at the Columbus Downtown Hilton.
